F. E. Bunnett, Undine

Undine, thou image fair and blest,
    Since first thy strange mysterious glance,
    Shone on me from some old romance,
    How hast thou sung my heart to rest!

  How hast thou clung to me and smiled,
    And wouldest, whispering in my ear,
    Give vent to all thy miseries drear,
    A little half-spoiled timorous child!

  Yet hath my zither caught the sound,
    And breathed from out its gates of gold,
    Each gentle word thy lips have told,
    Until their fame is spread around.

  And many a heart has loved thee well,
    In spite of every wayward deed,
    And many a one will gladly read,
    The pages which thy history tell.

  I catch the whispered hope expressed,
    That thou should'st once again appear;
    So cast aside each doubt and fear,
    And come, Undine! thou spirit blest!

  Greet every noble in the hall,
    And greet 'fore all, with trusting air,
    The beauteous women gathered there;
    I know that thou art loved by all.

  And if one ask thee after me,
    Say: he's a true and noble knight,
    Fair woman's slave in song and fight
    And in all deeds of chivalry.

Herbert James Draper

Herbert James Draper

Herbert James Draper (1863 – 22 September 1920) was an English Classicist painter whose career began in the Victorian era and extended through the first two decades of the 20th century.

Draper was a painter of powerful and sensuous imaginative works who enjoyed considerable success around 1900. However, his work has been little studied, because his fluent academic draftsmanship, the result of a training received in Paris, rapidly became unfashionable in the 20th century. His merits are only now being reassessed.

Lament for Icarus
Draper was born in London and educated at the St. John's Wood Art School and, from 1884, at the Royal Academy Schools. He won the Royal Academy Travelling Scholarship in 1889 and studied at the Academie Julian in Paris and in Rome. He had already begun to exhibit at the Royal Academy, and showed there regularly between 1887 and his death. A number of his works were bought for the recently founded British provincial art galleries and may be found in Liverpool, Manchester, Bradford, Preston, Truro and Hull. In 1898, his 'Lament for Icarus' (Tate Gallery, London) was bought from the Royal Academy exhibition by the Chantrey Bequest, the most important public fund for purchasing modern art and in 1900 this work gained a gold medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle.

At about the same time, the artist received an important mural commission for the ceiling of the Draper's Hall, headquarters of one of the old London livery companies. His work combined academic figure drawing with an almost Post-Impressionist colour range and pointillist technique, designed to retain the works brilliancy when seen from a distance and under the artificial lighting of the company's dinners. Despite these successes, Draper was never elected Royal Academician, or even Associate. By the time of his death, his work had fallen out of favour and he did not even receive an obituary in the Times. There is no modern study of his art, but two of his paintings were included in the Last Romantics exhibition at the Barbican Art Gallery, London, in 1989. — Hilary Morgan

Koichi Fukuda

Koichi Fukuda (born in 1975) is a Japanese American musician, and the lead guitarist, programmer, and keyboardist for the industrial metal band Static-X and Drugstore Fanatics.

He was present on the band's debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip, but left the band prior to the recording of their second album, Machine, citing personal problems due to excessive touring. However, he did still contribute keyboards to the record. He rejoined Static-X after the firing of their then-current guitarist, Tripp Eisen, at the end of the recording process of the 2005 album Start a War, and was present to record their fifth album, Cannibal.
Between his stints in Static-X, he formed another, less aggressive band called Revolve. Drawing comparisons to Tool and Pink Floyd, they were very successful locally and played several concerts in and around the Los Angeles, California area. They released several demos as free downloads on their website, and released one EP containing several reworked versions of previously released demos, as well as a few new tracks.
